Backend Team Lead (Content)

We are looking for a Backend Team Lead in the Content team. The content team is part of the hotel product, we receive, transform, control, create and visualize content for people using the latest technology, knowledge and experience. We tell our users about places to stay away from home so that their expectations match reality and they have the most interesting travel experience. In addition to knowledge about hotels, we provide the entire company with knowledge of geography, an autocomplete service for hotels and geography, etc.

Job Responsibilities

planning development iterations including both product tasks and technical debt;
decomposing and distributing tasks among team members;
translating tasks from business descriptions into technical implementation descriptions;
participating in the expansion of the team, mentoring new employees in the team;
creating and maintaining a friendly and comfortable atmosphere within the team;
improving and developing the hotel data service;
writing interfaces for accessing content by other services;
optimizing and speeding up database queries.

Key Qualifications

you have experience managing a team of 2 or more people;
you know very well what 1-1 and retro are for, led and built personal development plans for team members, you understand how to motivate employees;
you have experience in clarifying requirements and working out tasks from a business;
gained experience in commercial development in Python3 in conjunction with Django for at least 3 years;
you know how to write and maintain web services, design API;
confident in SQL (PostgreSQL), able to compose and optimize SQL queries without using ORM, if necessary;
you write neat, understandable, maintainable and scalable code, you cover the code with auto-tests.

Your advantage will be:

knowledge or willingness to learn Golang and desire to develop on it;
experience with PostGIS;
experience with Aerospike;
if you know how to use the console to work with files and directories, search the logs, you can write a makefile or a simple bash script.
