Chief of Staff to the CEO


Emerging Travel Group (ETG) is looking for a strong leader to work as Chief of Staff to the President and CEO. The person will act as a trusted partner and advisor to the executive and help oversee the day-to-day execution of the CEO’s’ communications, relationship management, and operational needs.
ETG is a profitable fast-growing online travel technology company that operates in business-to-customer (B2C), business-to-agency (B2A), and Corporate Travel Management (CTM) segments. Our brands RateHawk, Roundtrip, ZenHotels, and Ostrovok, help customers manage all aspects of their travel needs.
ETG employs more than 2000 employees across Europe, CIS, MENA, North, and South America in roles ranging from product and business development to specialized multilingual customer support for all our customers, whether they are trade partners or individuals.

Job Responsibilities

Fighter for CEO’s Efficiency 
  • Supporting the CEO in preparing for meetings, presentations, and public appearances
  • Managing the CEO's schedule and priorities to ensure focus on the most critical initiatives and meetings
Operations and Project Management:
  • Work to ensure the successful launch of new initiatives within ETG and effective pass-off to other departments as required
  • Personally manage special projects on behalf of the CEO
Senior Leadership Team Liaison:
  • Act as the primary contact for senior leaders in the organization seeking to work with the CEO and assist them in problem-solving, as well as in the fulfillment of deliverables to the CEO
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO on organizational updates, priorities, processes, and decisions
Internal Communications:
  • Help the CEO build effective and honest communication within the wider team
  • Review production of presentation materials for matters with the CEO’s involvement
External Communications & Relationship Management:
  • Help build and support the external communication of the CEO as an ambassador of the organization and its brands in social media
  • Ensure regular and productive communication with Board members, advisors, and other shareholders
  • Help the CEO effectively engage stakeholders in opportunities and events that arise by developing guest lists, communication plans, and liaising with related departments
  • Personally manage critical relationships for the CEO as appropriate, including commercial partners, governmental representatives, and strategic corporate development contacts
  • Support in bringing on new partnerships for the organization together with the CEO.  Nurture relationships and take part in ideation, program creation, and design

Key Qualifications

Experience Working in a High-pressure Environment:
  • 3+ years of investment banking, consulting, or startup experience
  • Positive and professional attitude, ability to work as a team player under pressure
  • Attention to detail; high-level of accountability for the quality of projects
  • Ability to maintain good judgment, time-manage, and multi-task in a demanding and fast-paced work environment
  • Ability to learn new skills and concepts quickly
  • Able and willing to travel and work outside regular business hours
Tactical, Execution-Focused Approach:
  • Operates effectively in ambiguity
  • Develops a core understanding of the company’s underlying drivers for success
  • Both optimistic in driving towards opportunities and realistic in identifying challenges

Strong Interpersonal, Communication, and Presentation Skills
  • Strong skills in and a natural flair for interpersonal communication and relationship management
  • Ability and emotional maturity to work in a productive and cooperative way with a variety of people ranging from executives to individual contributors and support staff
  • Fluent English: can comfortably present a strategy to foreign partners and respond to questions. Can comfortably interact with partners in various intl markets
  • Excellent written communication skills in English and Russian
  • Demonstrable ability to distill complex concepts from many sources into a simple, high-impact communication medium (e.g., emails, presentations, papers)
Strong Technical Experience
  • Basic understanding of finance, accounting, and financial modeling
  • Basic knowledge of product technology processes
