Who we need
We are looking for a Senior Python Developer to join the Intranet team, which develops key services for company employees and related HR products. This is where all up-to-date information about employees, organizational structure, and processes affecting the life and development of the team is collected.
Our current priorities include the development of a matrix team system, implementation of goal-setting, automation of integrations with external services, and the advancement of our performance review system.
Job responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing, supporting, and optimizing the backend of complex web applications using Python/Django (Intranet, internal merch shop, career portals)
- Designing architecture, selecting optimal solutions for business tasks and system scaling
- Writing and optimizing database queries (PostgreSQL)
- Integrating with external services and APIs
- Setting up and maintaining task queues (RQ, Celery), caching (Redis)
- Implementing best testing practices, ensuring code quality and reliability (unit tests, integration testing)
- Participating in CI/CD implementation, working with DevOps engineers on deployment and monitoring issues
- Effective teamwork within Agile/Scrum processes (code review, sprint planning, retrospectives)
- Mentoring junior engineers and actively contributing to the development of the team’s engineering culture
Key qualifications
- 5–7+ years of commercial development experience with Python and Django
- Experience working with relational databases (PostgreSQL is required: schema design, writing and profiling complex SQL queries, performance optimization)
- Hands-on experience with task queues (RQ, Celery) and caching systems (Redis)
- Proven experience working in Scrum/Agile teams, confident use of team development tools (git, code reviews, issue trackers)
- Experience writing tests, covering business logic with unit and integration tests
- Spoken English at B1 (intermediate) level or higher
Nice to have:
- Knowledge of additional programming languages (Go, JavaScript/TypeScript)
- Experience implementing microservice architectures, integrating various services (gRPC, protobuf, REST API, message brokers)
- Experience with asynchronous Python frameworks (FastAPI, aiohttp)
- Experience setting up CI/CD (GitLab CI, Tower, Docker, Kubernetes)
- Understanding of web application security principles and practices (API protection, authentication and authorization, encryption, etc.)
